Making Movies

As loyal blog followers know, the second graders made movies this week. But you may not know all that went into these movies.

• Students chose a partner with whom they thought they'd work well.
• They chose the country they wanted to research--but it couldn't be their home country. We wanted to make sure we represented six different continents.
  
• Using books and websites, students learned about how children lived in their chosen country.
• Together they wrote a script, keeping in mind what CULTURE meant.
• They designed their own backgrounds and costumes.
• They memorized their scripts.
• And, with only ONE rehearsal, they recorded their movies.

Second grade!

Yesterday our class had to mesure the perimeter of the basketball cort and four squares for Mr.Gleason. Yesterday we also finished loercase cursive letters. Now we have to do journal in cursive. yesterday was Jana's birthday she brought muffins.

Yesterday, Ms. Christian was sick. So Ms. Ira teach us. We play spelling bingo after library. I didn't won the game.

Yesterday our class got new after school forms we are all exited. Yessterday Mrs.Christian had to leave because she had a bad head ake.

Yasterday we had new spelling words. They are hard. Today we will a-b-c them. Then it was computer time. We tiped a stories.

On friday we had a BIG spelling test. We got three paper in spelling test. 1st one is you have to write what Ms. Christian says. 2nd one is you have to circle the right spelling word. 3d one is you have to circle or change the underlined spelling words. It was easeyer than I thought.

Today we selebrated MASLENITASA !!!! We made dolls you could make a grandma or a boy. We went on a slide. There is a big slide. by Sophia



Here we are with first and fourth grades around the remains of the maslenitsa. We watched it burn while we walked around it. Its head collapsed towards Mr. Alm! That means he will have good luck this year.


After we played games outside and ate pancakes, we spilt into two groups to play games and do some traditional crafts. This group is in the log house playing a game.



Here are the big slides. Even though they weren't very icy, we had fun sliding.

We finished the day by climbing on a huge snow fort. It was a great day! We think spring will soon be here.

Friday was 100 day in school. It very fun day. Me and my frinds play game. Evry body bring 100 things. But I fore got bring 100 things. So I play with Miss Christian. And me and frins eat m and m and eat other things. It very good. Miss christian said today has 100 home work. But this is a joke.

Yesterday me and Neals did the big spelling test. We had to do the big spelling the other day but we were sick. So I also missed part of art. On the other spelling test I got 97 that was almost 100.

Yesterday we also learned about llamas. My favorite part is when the llama spits. We also watched a crazy video about a llama going to the dentist.
